It Will Be Worth It All

by Bethany Wuerffel

The silent tears fall on my cheeks. My heart is broken. My throat choked with emotion.

Bethany Wuerffel

Her absence leaves a void so wide and so deep, no part of life is unaffected, all the pain is connected.

Cancer took her too soon. Her work can’t be done. But she’s passed on the baton. There are souls to be won.

So we press on in the battle, our sight often blurred. Life is hard, there are so many fears! God is still good though, and for Him we’ll keep on. Doing His work, singing His song.

Sharing His smile, arrayed in His love, touching each life for His kingdom above. Serving, praying, her legacy portraying. Our day’s not yet done, nor our work for the Son.

We each have a calling, our life’s work to do.
But take heart! One day that work will be completed, the enemy finally defeated!!

And when that day comes the reunion will be glorious. Together we’ll worship our Savior victorious. Our crowns cast before Him, our hearts glad and free, His love washing over us as deep as the sea.

I can’t wait to see you again in heaven Mom. ❤️

Read Bethany’s blog “Roadblocks” here. She grew up with her 7 siblings as missionary kids in Papua New Guinea where her parents served with Wycliffe Bible Translators. As a young adult she pursued missions herself, moving to the Philippines for two years to study midwifery and serve the people there through childbirth with the love of Jesus. While she now calls North Carolina home, she continues to enjoy international travel and ministry work. Through Women of the Word, Israel has become one of her passions and she has traveled there several times for both tours and ministry.
